The Dazzle was created in 2023 to offer families a neurodivergent affirming
space for their children to come together.
The Dazzle is led by an early childhood teacher, speech pathologist, occupational therapist and allied health assistant.
The small group program is offered to 3-5 year olds and runs from a playgroup space in Traralgon. Children are exposed to a range of tasks that support communication, play, social, motor and cognitive development in a neurodivergent affirming manner.
Children attend 8 sessions per term.
The Dazzle currently offers the following group session times:
Friday 9:15am - 11:15am
Friday 12:45pm - 2:45pm
The Dazzle program may be funded through NDIS if your child has early intervention in their plan.
Neurodiversity embraces variations in human neurology as normal.
In the past, individuals diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and other specific conditions were viewed as having a “disorder,” and their traits were described using deficit-based language. The idea of neurodiversity suggests that all brains are simply different and that these differences don’t need to be cured or changed, rather supported for exactly who they are.
By accommodating the needs of each individual, as opposed to trying to change the individual to fit into a more “standard” mold, each person can more effectively reach their potential.
